Producer Profile: Arturo Family Workshop

Supplier: Tumia

Tumia’s hand blown glassware is made in Mexico from recycled drink bottles and other scrap glass. The glass is collected (often from the street) and sold to the small family run workshop that makes the glassware. The bottles are then melted down and then hand blown and shaped into something new.

Each beautiful piece has its own unique characteristics and a solid, weighty feel. The range has been chosen to combine traditional handcrafted skills with modern design to produce a great collection of different sizes, colours and shapes. The glass is dishwasher safe.

Tumia are proud to be partnering with the Arturo family in Mexico who run the workshop that produces our glassware. They are keen to ensure the highest quality and recognise the importance of providing good working conditions to their workers – including not discriminating on the basis of gender and providing safe working conditions, good wages and health cover to all employees.
