Visit the Windmill Shop
‘The Windmill’ is located in the main Headington shopping parade, on the south side of the London Road. The shop is near to the new pedestrian crossing on the Oxford side of the cross-roads, with a pleasant, wide pedestrian area outside.
The shop is called ‘The Windmill’, named after its location near to where there was a windmill for many centuries (of which you can find more information at www.headington.org.uk).
Travel
If you live in the area, you may normally walk to the Headington shops, or cycle - there are bicycle stands at the end of Kennett Road near the shop.
If you travel by bus, Headington is well served by public transport. Any buses from the City Centre going to Headington, Barton, Risinghurst, Thornhill Park & Ride, Wheatley, Thame or Abingdon stop at the Headington shops, and similarly for transport from these directions towards the city. Currently the service numbers are 8, 9 and U1 (Oxford Bus Company, Stagecoach & Brookes Buses); Park & Ride: 400; Arriva The Shires: 280. From Cowley and Wood Farm there is service no. 10 towards the JR Hospital. Coaches from London and the London airports stop in Headington.
If you come by car, there is a large pay-and-display car park off Old High Street (behind Waitrose), and a smaller one on the corner of Windmill Road and St Leonard’s Road.
