We are a fairtrade organisation based in Oxford, a fairtrade city with a fairtrade university (Oxford Brookes).

As a fairtrade organisation in Oxford we support all other such organisations. Oxford is a Fairtrade City, and Oxford Brookes is a Fairtrade University, and we work with both of these. There is another dedicated fairtrade retail shop in the the city centre (Fairtrade at St Michael’s), and many independent retailers and supermarkets sell certain types of fairtrade goods, some of which we do not stock (fresh fruit and vegetables, adult clothing, wine). Our aim is to complement these other outlets for fairtrade goods, not to be unnecessarily competitive.
Suppliers
A significant proportion of our stock is purchased from established UK fairtrade importers or suppliers, such as Traidcraft, Suma, Infinity Foods or Shared Earth, who are approved by the British Association of Fairtrade Shops (BAFTS). This guarantees the fairtrade provenance of the goods. We also use quite a number of smaller suppliers who specialise in a particular type of product, or products from a particular region. Our aim is to establish a personal relationship with suppliers.

Two Years On!
Friday 24th February is the second anniversary of The Windmill's opening its doors. It coincides with the monthly Headington Farmers' market, at which Mr Pippin will be selling fairtrade doughnuts, and we will be offering free samples of Grumpy Mule coffee.

We are maintaining the 10% reduction on prices for all Ecover products for a second week, so come along and pay less for your refills or for new products until 18th February.

For Valentine's Day
You can choose decorated chocolate hearts, chocolate hearts on a stick, chocolate bars with 'I Love You' on the wrapper, small heart hangings, large heart hangings, heart boxes, heart cards and more. All on display in the shop now.
